American Baroque Singers

Musical Memory:

Sounds of the Slavic Courts

In Musical Memory: Sounds of the Slavic Courts, the American Baroque Singers will explore and perform the stylistic variety of 17th and 18th century Slavic culture through the singing of monophonic chant, part-songs, motets, anthems, and sacred concertos, all of which are unaccompanied choral works. The program is especially designed to showcase and feature how the music of these great composers was built on the foundation and memory of ancient Slavic chant. These works will be sung in Slavonic, with transliterated and original texts provided (audio pronunciation guides will be sent and pronunciation also will be coached in rehearsal).

Concert on Sunday, March 5th, 2017
